Black Cuervo (real name: Zoe Aves) is one of the recurring antagonists of El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera. She is Manny’s arch nemesis and classmate. Occasionally, she has a crush on Manny, so she flirts with him from time to time. She is also the daughter of Voltura and granddaughter of Lady Gobbler, who are all part of The Flock of Fury.
Description[]
"By day Zoe is an average teenager who's totally down in the dumps and disinterested in life in general. But Zoe's family is anything but average, they're a clan of supervillains known as the Flock of Fury. Just like the Riveras all have feline alter egos, the Flock of Fury is made up of birdie baddies. When the sun sets on Miracle City, Zoe secretly becomes the evil supervillain Black Cuervo, a kick-butt, take-charge girl who is much more outgoing and fuller of life than Zoe. Black Cuervo is a force to be reckoned with, equipped with a laser blaster on her wrist and jet-wings on her back. Zoe's got an evil Mom named Voltura and a REALLY evil grandmother known as Lady Gobbler. The three generations of Aves have tangled with the Riveras in the past, and will most definitely meet up with them in the future..."[1]
Appearance[]
Black Cuervo is a small and teenage girl with a light-pale skin. She has a red-colored eyes, purple eyeshadow, black eyelashes, a short black gothic-like hairstyle with purple outlines, black eyebrows, and red lipsticks. As a super villain, she wears a black eye mask, as well as a black and purple-striped helmet with purple semi-circle, earcaps, and a matching-purple beak-shaped visor, covering her hair. She also wears a long-sleeved, black costume, consisting of black gloves with short, purple sharp claws, purple and black stripes stockings, and short black boots.
As a student of Leone Middle School, she wears a similar gothic-style outfit without her helmet and costume, retaining some of her outfits from her super villain persona. She wears a black, gothic dress with a white collar and buttons, as well as her black sleeves with white cuffs, and black fingerless gloves, exposing her black fingernails. She also wears a purple-striped stockings and a different pair of black boots with a pointy sole and square tops.
Personality[]
Black Cuervo is one of the few individuals that actually keeps her identity secret. For most others in the show that have alter egos, people know who it is. She is not known to make friends, but she can be constantly seen trying to seduce Manny. She will occasionally stop in the middle of a fight to say "something" about him. She often tries to cover her feelings before nearly openly expressing them by shooting or otherwise attempting to harm Manny. She is also sarcastic.
History[]
Early Years[]
Part of Zoe's past was only seen once in a flashback. According to Jorge R. Gutierrez, Zoe Aves was born to Carmelita and an unknown father.
She first met Manny in preschool, before he even met Frida. They were friends during that time, but it all changed when Manny met Frida in kindergarten during detention. Once it became apparent that he had chosen Frida over her, Zoe began her feud against Frida over Manny.
The feud has seen both girls attempting to leave the other humiliated. As shown in The Cuervo Project, Frida constantly tries to lure Manny into the battle through less than subtle trickery. At some point, Zoe Aves takes up her career as a super villain under the guise of Black Cuervo.
